Quick Changelist:

* New scoreboard
* Fixed the Chat Sound
* Other minor fixes

Windows:
Alpha RC2 Update 1.1 - Win32 [ Mirror #1: project-valkyrie.com ]

Dedicated Server:
Dedicated Alpha RC2 1.1 - Win32 & Linux [ Mirror #1: project-valkyrie.com ]

Dedciated Notes: To setup PV in dedicated server you must install tf2, and then unpack project valkyrie to the 'orangebox' folder under srcds_l

Notes: The linux server has only marginally been tested. If you get crashes, I URGE you to please let me know on the PV forums!!

Hope to see some servers up soon!!

Hi there, I'm looking to start hosting a server but I'm having a bit of trouble. I downloaded the dedicated server files and unzipped them here:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\fireproofpunk\source dedicated server

When I run Source Dedicated Server I get "Project Valkyrie Public ALPH" listed under the Games drop down menu. However when I click Start Server the dialog vanishes and nothing launches. Is this a known problem? Any ideas how to fix this or what I'm doing wrong? Help would be appreciated :)

Yeah, the instructions for where to put the folder were clear as mud to my mind :)

I worked out that you put the folder here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\[USERNAME]\source 2007 dedicated server

And then run the Team Fortress 2 Dedicated Server to launch the Mod.

Thanks for taking the time to answer though :)

Hmm...I read that you have to have an Orange Box game for PV to work But I also heard that you can use Orange Box SDK Base 2007 But when I go to the Tools Tab in Steam Click install on Orange Box SDK Base 2007 and it goes to install but when it reaches half way it stops and says "Error Steam servers are currently busy" But Ive tried all week and it still does that.
I know this is probably something I should ask on steampowered but you omega seem alot smarter than everyone on steampowered.
Sorry to take away from your busy life right now.

Right. Since the release of the SourceSDK Base 2007 you won't need a EP2 game anymore.
However you need at least one Source game to be able to download the sdk base & sdk base 2007.
I assume you got one, since you said you were going to install source sdk base 2007.

If i understood that right, the installer quit with an error so you're unable to start downloading?
You should try to delete the .blob files from your Steam folder and restart steam.

Oh,I didn't know you had to have a Source game to download the SDK,I don't actually have one at the moment But I should soon be buying the Orange Box and Garrysmod.

I used this link here to try and get the SDK:

http://www.moddb.com/engines/source/news/source-sdk-base-orange-box-released

Thank you so much for your help I appreciate it very much but I do have another question,

Could you also use a regular old Source game just for the engine like the Half Life 2 Demo or does it have to be an Orange box game,probably not because I think PV uses particles and the regular Source engine doesn't support it.
Because i was just thinking of going into the gameinfo.txt file and change the Appid to 219 for the Half Life 2 Demo but it probably won't work.

Here are all the Appid's:

It has to be a Full version of a source Game, demo versions don't come with the SDK.
But it doesn't matter if it's a EP1 or Orangebox game, both will allow you to download the sdk base 2007.
